It is that time of year again. The kids are off to school and your wallet is trying to recover from school shopping.  This year parents spent on average $649 on a child in elementary school, $941 per middle school child and $1,402 per high school child. This is an increase of 6.8 percent from last year.

Back to school shopping is the second largest seasonal shopping period of the year.  Use your resources to find deals.  End of the summer sales are wonderful for clothing.  Also, when buying your school supplies shop multiple stores.  Use weekly ads to find the best deals on the supplies your child needs.  As school time is always an adjustment for families don’t let it become a financial burden.
